Established in 1930 as a state sponsored Roman Catholic School run by German missionaries 450+ students 100% of students qualify for student grants. Located in one of the most economically underserved areas of KwaZulu Natal Province near Durban, South Africa 50% of student body are orphans, 40% come from homes of unemployed single parents and 10% have parents that are domestic workers who do not live at home. The Dr. Bettye Bouey Yates Foundation provides educational materials, equipment & supplies that supplement what is provided to the school by the government. Grants from the Foundation afford the school the opportunity to provide resources and materials that are difficult to obtain such as building a math and science lab and fully equipping it with reference resources, storage containers, materials and supplies.
